3/16-3/21 All that adds up to New Orleans! After all the stays on the Gulf Coast in small towns and remote locations it was time for some big city fun and New Orleans couldn’t be a better place to do it. We stayed in an RV park, of all places, right downtown in the French Quarter. Bourbon street was a short walk or Uber ride away. Our first night we had dinner at a very nice little restaurant where we learned that New Orleans allows you to walk around the street with your alcoholic drink of choice. So, while we were waiting in line for dinner we took advantage of the open container law which made the wait for dinner such better! We were in New Orleans right after Mardi Gras (intentionally) and saw lots of the remains of the parades and revelry. However, it seems that on Bourbon Street its party down every night! But, we learned that the locals go down to French street where the party scene is more sedate. We sampled much of what New Orleans is known for and it held up to its reputation for great food, music, architecture, and nice people.
