hmmmmm, i wonder what this post could be about? Flying a P-51 Mustang perhaps?

4/25 – 5/1 We are now in Kissimee FL not far from Kennedy Space Center, but the real reason we are here is for the exceptional and super exciting experience of flying a dual control P-51 Mustang. Or more correctly known as a TF-51 called Crazy Horse belonging to a company called Stallion 51. This is such an exciting experience for me as I have admired the P-51 at many airshows and never thought that I would actually fly one. Stallion 51 provided an exceptional, professional, exciting, and very memorable experience and one thatI will relive for a very long time. My pilot instructor, Lee Lauderback, was thorough and conveyed a huge sense of excitement for flying a P-51 even though he has more than 10,000 hours flying them. BTW, this is NOT an experience where you are a passenger in the back seat. Oh no, you are instructed on how to fly the aircraft and shortly afterward , actually take control of the aircraft and execute all kinds of exciting maneuvers. Words can not convey how great this was to do. Many of the moments are best shown as a video so this page may take a bit to load. The P51 is equipped with in cockpit and wing mounted cameras and audio. The ground videos and photo were taken by Debi. So on to the pictures.

First, a HUGE thank you for my amazing and generous wife for being a sponsor of this adventure. I love her so much and she is such a great partner in both our marriage and all our cool adventures!
This is the P-51 (TF-51) that I flew. That is Lee and I at the wing tip. Prior to walking out to the aircraft, Lee briefed and instructed me on how to fly the aircraft. It was thorough and easy to comprehend and assimilate.
Lee explaining to Debi that there’s no in-flight meal for this flight.
Getting the seat adjusted.
Strapping in. In addition to being a great instructor pilot, Lee has a large library of funny quips and wit.

Pre-flight checks. the whine you hear in the background is a King Air turbo prop getting ready for take off.
Now things start getting really exciting. Engine start up and taxi.
This is a video from the cockpit and airframe cameras that I shortened so that it is more of a summary than every moment of the flight. I’ll have another video of key flight moments shortly.
Taxiing back after an amazing flight!
And yes, I would do it all over again!
