Klamath River RV park was our first extended stop and we couldn’t have chosen a better spot. We headed East after Redding along highway 229 and 101 and were finally on the coast about a mile from the ocean.
It was a little interesting as the area had gotten lots of rain and even some snow and the river was continuing to rise. It was also flowing really fast and would be quite the ride if you were to float along in it. We were pretty safe though as the park was on a high river bank.
This is near the mouth of the Klamath River.
Shortly before we arrived, the access road to the beach experienced a landslide. Fortunately, the road crews quickly cleaned it up.
Time for a little touristy activity at the Trees Of Mystery just down the 101 from our campsite.
Supposedly Paul Bunyan helped chop down some of the gargantuan trees in this area.
He had a little help from his Ox too.
They had some rope bridges waaaaaaay up in the trees that you could cross over if you dared.
I think Debi was pretty daring!
Some comedian crossing the rope bridge.
Oh nooooo, another tree hugger in Oregon…………. NOT!
Bigfoot was wandering around in the forest. Is there a resemblance here?
