We stayed from 4/28 through 5/12 in Gold Beach Oregon at an RV park called Honey Bear by the Sea. While choosing this RV park was influenced by its great location, our selection was a little influenced by its name. Really, an RV park called ‘Honey Bear”. What a great place to stay while we explored all what this part of Oregon has to offer and admire. And boy , does it have a lot. In addition to the beautiful picturesque beaches, there are vast sections of deep forests to admire and explore. There is also the Rogue River close by which is a popular place for river rafting, jet boating,(more on this later) and fishing.
Oregon has a saying that their forest stops at the ocean, well it’s true! This is the start of a short wooded path from our camp site to the ocean.
And this is where the above path takes you. We sat on this log many afternoons with a cocktail and enjoyed the ocean view.
Happy smiles when viewing the ocean.
The log we sat on. The Oregon coast has lots of eroded logs and branches. They add a lot of texture and beauty to the beach.
This is what we admired on many afternoons during our time at Gold Beach.
Up and down the Oregon coast is beautiful scenery. The type of coast line does vary, in particular the color and texture of the sand. .In the southern part it is almost black and very coarse and as you go North, it becomes finer and more tannish in color.
Yep, nice view. Lots of fog while we were at Gold Beach but it added to the nice atmosphere of the coast.
Sometimes the logs on the beach seem to be very photogenic.
This wood seems to have been stuck in this rock for awhile!
