It May not Be On The Beach Camping But Its A Close Second – Matagorda Bay Nature Park, Texas

2/28/22-3/2/22 Matagorda Bay Nature Park is on the tip of a spit of a peninsula inTexas. You have to cross a long, high, rather narrow bridge in order to get to this spit of land. We had one of the best spots in the park, backed up right next to the fishing pier and with a westerly view of the Gulf and the bayou. We were probably less than twenty yards from the water. As soon as we had completed setting up we met two really nice couples, Alan and Karen, Jon and Mary from Texas. Alan had the typical Texan drawl, loved to fish and was a great story teller. We ended up going out to dinner with them, chatted and laughed with them for hours!. We frequently chatted with them during our stay, Karen learned that we were going to New Orleans and since she had seen some time there she gave us some great insight into places we should go. Thanks Karen! That’s typical of one of the great things about RV camping, you meet some of the nicest people. We shared contact info with them and are looking forward to meeting up with them again.

Our stay at Matagorda was amazing, not just for the nice folks, but the beach, views, and weather was awesome. We put Matagorda on our list of places to be certain to return to.
